We hate to be bearers of bad news, but seems like Final Fantasy XV might get delayed to November 29 instead of releasing on September 30, this year. Although it has not been made official yet by Square Enix in any way, the rumor has come from a reliable source that has been right earlier on another game as well.
According to Gamnesia, it seems that a source within the GameStop management has received word that Final Fantasy XV will be delayed to November 29. New promotional materials have arrived at GameStop stores, with clear instructions that they are not to be put up before Sunday, August 14. If this is really the case, we may as well brace ourselves for an official announcement on Monday, August 15 on the delay of the game.
Now this source is just not any other source, and has been right on multiple occasions before. For one, this unidentified source was correct when it leaked the release date for Star Wars Battlefront, as well as the release date for the New Nintendo 3DS. So, should we believe the rumor? We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that the rumor is false.
With the recent release of the latest World of Wonder trailer for Final Fantasy XV, it would really be quite disappointing to find out that the game still has a lot of time to release. For the last three months we have been busy believing that September 30 is the official release date of the game, and delaying it now would be devastating for die-hard fans of the series like us.
Now all we can do is wait for Square Enix to say something on the matter, whether the news is good or bad. We were already let down when we received news that No Man’s Sky had been delayed, and now this. But we also know that patience is a virtue, and that all good things take time, so we might as well expect more from the game now.
