We got good news for all Minecraft fans out there; it’s finally coming on Oculus Rift platform next week. The information was disclosed by Mojang employee, Tommaso Checchi, who is the lead designer of Minecraft’s Windows 10 and smart phone versions.
Mr. Checchi made the announcement on Twitter: “PSA: unsurprisingly, promised dates change :) We said that Rift support would be in 0.15.6, but it will be out next week instead!” The news has ignited excitement among users since it’s something that gamers have been waiting for quite some time.”

We said that Rift support would be in 0.15.6, but it will be out next week instead!
Interestingly enough, Minecraft’s original creator, Markus “Notch” Persson, refused to release the VR version of the game because the social media giant, Facebook, creeps him out. However, he later sold Mojang to Microsoft for $2.5 billion. A few months later, it was announced that the game will soon be available on Rift’s platform.
Minecraft is already available on the Samsung Gear VR headset. The recent news has ignited excitement among PC gamers. The move appears to be part of Oculus’ efforts to improve its platform by bringing new games and content.
In addition to the VR update, developer Majong has announced several new add-ons for the game’s Windows 10 edition, which will allow users to “dramatically” change the rules. The VR version will be exclusively available for Oculus Rift headsets, so those using other VR headsets such as HTC Vive or PS VR will have to wait till it’s released on their platform.
We know that Mojang plans to release its widely popular game next week but the date is yet to be announced. Users who are playing Minecraft on their PC running on Windows 10 will receive the update that will enable them to plug in their Oculus Rift headset and play the blocky world-building game. Those who haven’t downloaded the game’s Windows 10 version yet, can do it for free from the developer’s website.
