If using GPS spoofing apps and bots wasn’t enough, a new glitch has hit the world of Pokemon GO. Apparently, players have been coming across Gyms in their neighborhoods which are taken over by Eggs. Yes, you read that right, eggs!
Unlike other hacks which benefit only the hacker, this new Egg glitch affects everyone. And there seems to be nothing that can be done about it. So what is this all-new glitch about? A couple of days ago, a level 5 Pokemon Go trainer came across a gym which was taken over by members of Team Instinct. However, on selecting the gym, the trainer was surprised to see that out of the three Pokemon defending the Gym, one was a Pokemon Egg.
Because of that egg, he was not able to attack or take over the gym; hence, granting Team Instinct a permanent gym. At first, we were just competing against spoofers and botters, which was difficult but still possible. However, this new glitch completely breaks the game to the point that no one can do anything about it, except for the developers of course. With how Niantic has been dealing with these hackers, it might take some time to fix the glitch.
Here’s one good thing about it: unlike spoofers and botters who can cheat and exploit the game without revealing their identities, this glitch shows everyone who the offender is, as their name is listed right next to the egg. Niantic is ready to ban cheaters permanently from Pokemon GO, so anyone who attempts to use this exploit is either very brave or stupid.
There are some theories as to how this has been done, but no one exactly knows how that person got to defend a gym with an egg. In the meantime, you can report anyone who you think is hacking by filling out a form here.
