Pokémon Go’s latest update, 0.33.0 for Android, and 0.31.0 for iOS devices, is said to have fixed previously broken tracking system. Following its release, some players took to Twitter and revealed that the update has more than just some cosmetic changes.
Since the feature has only been made available to a few lucky players, therefore it’s been trending with the term “hidden feature” for now. Though, with time, we believe Niantic will make it accessible for all.
In case you haven’t come across the “hidden” feature yet, read through to know what all the hype is about. Players who have updated their game would know that the “Nearby” tracking system has been revamped and is now called “Sightings.” However, the “Nearby” system is still here, but it works a bit differently now. Trainers having the new feature can see two different tabs when they open up app’s tracker; labeled “Sightings” and “Nearby.”
The Sightings section shows which pocket monsters are close by while the Nearby section shows Pokémon available at nearest PokeStop; the latter points their exact location. Check out the image below for a closer look at what we’re talking about.
Furthermore, it seems like you can select a specific PokeStop located in the Nearby section. Doing this will let players see the stop and its exact location. Check out the video below for details regarding how this new system works:
