Two years ago, when Ubisoft released Watch Dogs It was expected to be a huge hit. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out to be the success that Ubisoft expected it to be. It was an ambitious and promising title that became repetitive and boring very quickly and it suffered from that because of its open world nature. The multiplayer portion was a tedious affair and that turned us off too. However, we think its as good as the other Ubisoft title, the original Assassin’s Creed, because its sequel did the franchise justice.
Watch Dogs 2 is releasing in November this year and it’s looking to be like the hit Ubisoft wanted the original to be. Ubisoft has learned from the mistakes of the original and is giving the game fans wanted to play two years ago. It’s about entering the world of hacking and the journey seems quite exciting to be honest.
The original featured Aiden Pierce who is after the killer of his niece. This was due to an attack on his car and all survived except for the niece. This tragedy has haunted him and he has made his life’s mission to find the killer. It gets good from there but the story isn’t enough to keep players hooked due to the repetitive gameplay.
Watch Dogs 2, on the other hand, is a different beast altogether. Check out the latest video from Ubisoft which is a gameplay walkthrough and features multiplayer free roam in the open world of the San Francisco Bay Area.
San Francisco Bay Area, as you can see, is the perfect suburban playground for hackers as you saw in the gameplay walkthrough. This is one of the reasons why we are really excited about Watch Dogs 2. The Bay Area has been faithfully reproduced and is a tech hub thanks to being close to Silicon Valley.
The new protagonist is Marcus Holloway who works for a hacker group known as DeadSec and their mission is to take down CtoS 2.0. Ubisoft consulted actual hackers to give a degree of authenticity. So, you actually get to be part of a real hacking group, an experience that we are really looking forward to. Watch Dogs 2 has true potential to be the biggest games of 2016.
We are also excited that like Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs can turn into a huge franchise for Ubisoft. Watch Dogs 2 is releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 15, 2016. Let us know if you are excited too in the comments below.
