Greetings Guardians! You must be excited about the Rise of Iron expansion slated to release in September. Bungie has revealed some details on the expansion, its missions and the new social space, Felwinter Peak. So without further ado let us get right into all we know about the upcoming expansion and the new social space so far.
Felwinter peak will take center stage in Rise of Iron and will serve as the main hub from where Guardians, like yourselves, travel to various missions included in the expansion. So if you’re looking for new content and areas this is the new base that connects it all. However, in order to use the social space, Guardians will have to take it back from the enemy.
Nestled in the clouds at the top of a mountain, Felwinter Peak is a fortress that once housed the legendary Iron Lords, including Saladin himself. The location is highly reminiscent of the many crumbling ruins in Skyrim, with wooden bridges, tattered banners and a temple or shrine dedicated to some otherworldly being, in this case, the Iron Lords.
The mountain fortress of Felwinter Peak has been overrun with a new breed of Fallen, who have been affected by the ancient plague known as SIVA. These infected Fallen now roam the surrounding areas called the Plaguelands, a new location Guardians can patrol. The first mission of the expansion involves cleansing this area, after which it becomes the new social space, and gets populated with vendors and NPC’s, most notably, Lord Saladin himself.
Felwinter Peak will feature a new Cryptarch who sells artifacts that are powered-up, as well as a new vendor called Shiro-4, who sells materials for making armor, and also gives players bounty missions. Additionally, Bungie teased that bells scattered in Felwinter Peak can be activated so you can yield some secret outcome if triggered in a particular sequence.
That’s it for now Guardians. All our thoughts on Felwinter Peak, missions, activities and areas soon to feature on Destiny. Here’s an image that explains all you can expect in the upcoming Rise of Iron expansion.
