A new game called Pokémon Uranium has finally surfaced after being in development for about nine years. The game is in no way linked to either Game Freak or The Pokémon Company since it is a fan-made project. The game is free so you can download it on your PC right now and get busy.
Pokémon Uranium takes place in a new region called Tandor, which hosts its own series of gym leaders along with the Elite Four. You get to catch 150 new Pokémon, in which some of them are Nuclear-Type — something the official world of Pokémon does not have. You also get a new professor who becomes the regional expert in critters of the Tandor region.
Now, this isn’t the first time a game has been developed by fans of the series. Pokémon Quartz, Pokémon Reborn, Pokémon AshGray and many others have also been developed by fans but for Game Boy Advance. The games can be quite interesting if you wish to take a trip into the unknown worlds they offer.
We believe that for a Pokémon game that has the graphics of a Game Boy Advance title, nine years is way too long for a game to be developed. All the terrains and objects offered in Pokémon Uranium have been taken from titles that were released on Game Boy Advance, except for the script of the story and a few locations that have been remade just for the game.
We have played many titles of the series and we feel games that are made by fans are hardly ever completed by anyone. No one wishes to invest time into something which is meaningless for them or doesn’t offer an enriching experience that original games bring to the table.
Pokémon Sun and Moon are two highly anticipated titles we are waiting to get our hands on as soon as they release on Nintendo 3DS. Both games will be available in North America on November 18, 2016. So if you don’t have any game to play at the moment you can enjoy Pokémon Uranium on your PC.
