If you’ve seen the recent hour-long video released for Final Fantasy XV, and more importantly, if you are a huge fan of the franchise, you certainly would have seen features that are already implemented in other games. We point out these features, and discuss how important they all are for the game.
The first thing we noticed, which was also seen in one of the early trailers on Altissia, is that the hunt system is back. This particular feature was first introduced in Final Fantasy XII, in which players could take certain sub-quests and complete them for experience, items, and money. However, in Final Fantasy XV, it seems that there will be a lot of hunts, way more than what we saw in Final Fantasy XII. Each of these hunts would be crucial to gain everything the game has to offer, and make it easy when the end is near.
One of the best features in Final Fantasy VIII was the draw system that helped you to absorb magic, and then later use it on your foes. Square Enix seems to have implemented the draw system in Final Fantasy XV as well. This gives us nostalgic vibes about Squall Leonhart—the main protagonist of the eighth mainstream game of the series. So, from fire to ice and dark to light, you would need to absorb each type of magic from specific points in the game. Better stock up on these spells as you will need them to do some crafting later.
And last but not the least, chocobo races are back in Final Fantasy XV. This specific feature was first seen in Final Fantasy VII, in which the player had to take part in a chocobo race being held at the infamous Gold Saucer, in exchange for freedom. The race still plays out the same way, but grants you a wider variety of access when controlling a chocobo. This makes us wonder if the game has the ability to breed them or not. Guess we will have to wait to find out.
Needless to say, we can’t get any more excited about the game, and hope it comes out on November 29 without any further delays. Let us know if you are excited to see such great features in Final Fantasy XV.
