We came across rumors earlier on that Final Fantasy XV would be delayed; turns out these unidentified sources were right. Final Fantasy XV has now been officially delayed by Square Enix to November 29.
The Director of Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata, told fans on YouTube about the main reason behind the delay. In order to make the game an even better experience for all fans and non-fans of the series, the Square Enix team would need some more time to make the 10-year-old dream finally come true.
Tabata also pointed out that the game is already available to play, but in order to maximize its performance and give all the other games a panic run, Square Enix would need some more time. A day one patch would have become available for players whether they’d wanted to download it or not, but to get the highest quality of game experience, the final version of the game will release with the day one patch pre-installed.
He did apologize for the delay, but added it is in the interest of players as the game will also include some extra things. Square Enix will deliver the ultimate quality version of Final Fantasy XV to all players, whether they connect to the Internet or not. Those playing online will receive further patches and DLC in future.
It has been 10 years since we first heard of Final Fantasy XV—Final Fantasy Versus XIII at that time—so a little waiting should be worth it. The game will release for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a price of $59.99. Let’s hope we don’t get any more delays after this.
