In an attempt to market its upcoming title, Square Enix has opened doors for Dragon Quest fans to ask any question they may have regarding the game, and have them answered at Gamescom. The developer is set to release the much-awaited game, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, on September 16 this year; hard luck if you are not a Nintendo fan, as it will be a 3DS exclusive.
Gamescom is a platform set up every year for video-game developers in Cologne, Germany. It is similar to E3, and has been a stage for giants of the gaming industry. Apart from DQVII, Square Enix has yet to state what additional games, if at all, it’ll display.
This is not the first time Square Enix has opened up to audience for questions/feedback. It followed the same strategy for Final Fantasy XV and a total of 15 questions, which fans of the franchise had asked, were selected and answered on Twitter and Facebook. Final Fantasy XV Director, Hajime Tabata, responded to them without any spoilers.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is said to offer tons of content that can easily drain more than 100 hours of your playtime. It has 20 classes to choose from, with each of them having its strong and weak factors in battle. With a cast of six interesting characters, an immersive storyline, and mesmerizing music, DQVII is one game you should not miss out on the 3DS.
The game is available on both iOS and Android, but only for Japanese audience. The franchise’s first installment was released for PS in 2001. Following which we have seen nothing, but more titles with much better gameplay every time.
In the end, we would like to mention that the artwork and character designs are made by none other than Akira Toriyama. He is the man behind all Dragon Quest games as well as the Dragon Ball series. Let’s also not forget his contribution to Chrono Trigger, which still-to-date is considered one of the best JRPGs of all time.
