Just when you thought Metal Gear Solid: Definitive Ex was a mistake listing on Amazon, another listing pops up out of nowhere. Dell’s website has a listing of Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive. It is without the Ex this time with a release date of October 11, 2016. Kudos to Gamespot for spotting it. The interesting thing about the listing is that it shows the image of the NES Classic. It’s obviously a placeholder and even the description is not of the definitive edition but the mini console that will be in stores on November 11, 2016. The content guys at Dell are yet to update the description but this is another hint that MGS V’s definitive edition is a possibility. Check out the full description here. As of publishing, the link is still active and perhaps could be taken down later as was the case with Amazon. The Dell listing says it is for Xbox One, but we are sure it will also be for PS4.
There is no official word from Konami yet, but we do think that a definitive edition should be released. It should have Ground Zeroes, The Phantom Pain and DLC included. The price listed is $50 so it’s reasonably priced considering what you would hypothetically get. MGS V: The Phantom Pain is known to have a missing chapter, which the fans would love to play.
MGS V: The Phantom Pain was one of the biggest games of last year. Venom Snake and his army of Diamond Dogs take on Cipher in the ultimate open-world stealth adventure mixed with base building. You also hunt for resources, rescue operatives and spies, take down tanks and even a man on fire. This was creator Hideo Kojima and former team of Kojima Productions final MGS title for Konami. Kojima has since relaunched Kojima Productions and working with Sony for a PS4 exclusive i.e. Death Stranding.
We won’t reveal more since some of you are yet to try MGS V out. We would suggest waiting for the Definitive Edition when it releases. Chances are it will see the light of day and could be worth the wait. And we are sure that Snake will tell us as you boot it up, “kept you waiting, huh?”
