Pokémon GO took over the world by storm the day it was released. Following the game’s massive success, several third-party developers jumped on the bandwagon, releasing companion apps which, according to the developer, violate the game’s core features. The apps were soon shut down but it seems like the developers are not done with it yet.
Niantic has already banned third-party developers for running such apps but it looks like it’s time for players who used these apps to get ahead in the game. According to several people on Reddit, players who have used third-party apps or any other piece of software, are getting their accounts banned, and that too, permanently! Here’s an image of what the notification looks like.
But if you played the game – without using such apps and stayed completely in between the guidelines – and still got banned. Then you can fill the form linked in the email and appeal against the ban. Though, there is now guarantee whether you’ll get your account back or not, but no harm in fighting for it there.
Many players, despite having gotten emails, have reported that they are still able to log in. So we highly recommend everyone to check their email on which they have created their Pokémon GO account. If you have don’t worry just fill out the form and hopefully you’ll get your account back. On the hand, if you haven’t, play on but be sure not to do anything against the game’s terms of service/guidelines. For more details, check out Niantic’s official website for Pokémon GO here.
