Square Enix’s upcoming game Final Fantasy XV is soon going to hit cinemas in form of a movie, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. The movie will revolve will focus on what is happening in Lucis, while Noctis and his gang are away on their road trip.
The trailer shows monsters from earlier games of the franchise, including one from Final Fantasy VI. Ultros, an iconic comic relief villain of Final Fantasy VI, suddenly makes an appearance at the very end of the clip and takes Lunafreya hostage. He is a purple octopus with sharp fangs as teeth, and an impish personality. His two most famous attacks are: hitting people with tentacles, and turning them blind by throwing ink. We think he is there to stop Nyx from completing the task assigned by King Regis.
The purple octopus always had the hots for women, and is quite disgusted by the sight of men. This may be one of the reasons as to why he goes for Lunafreya rather than Nyx. He thinks quite highly of himself, and would do anything to wrap his tentacles around women. In Final Fantasy VI, he is seen mocking the party, and speaking in an exaggerated fashion. He is persistent, but a coward as well and escapes from battle as soon as he finds that he cannot win. At this point, it’s pretty hard to tell if someone summoned him or he was on the airship from the very beginning. We will only find that out once the movie hits theatres.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is releasing tomorrow in selected theatres. Whether you choose to watch the film or play the game first, it won’t spoil either. However, given the game will now release on November 29 rather than September 30, it would be best if you watch the movie first.
